We’re so glad you’re here. If you’re thinking about joining the Surrey Urban Farmers Market (SUFM) as a vendor, this page gives you a friendly overview of what to expect. We’re a small, volunteer‑powered team, and we love getting to know the people behind each business — it’s one of our favourite parts of the season.
This guide answers the most common questions new vendors have before applying, and helps you decide whether SUFM is the right fit for your products.
Who Can Apply
We welcome a wide range of local vendors, including:
- Farmers and gardeners
- Food producers and bakers
- Artisans and makers
- Prepared food vendors (ready-to-eat on-site foods)
- Food trucks, trailers and carts (20′ or less)
- Community organizations (limited spaces)
If your products are locally made, grown, baked, crafted, or created — you’re in the right place.

Insurance Requirement
If you’re new to insurance, don’t worry — most vendors arrange this quickly through their existing provider or a local insurer familiar with farmers markets. You can check with your homeowners insurance and you can check with DUUO, they specialize in Farmers Market event insurance.
Every SUFM vendor must carry liability insurance. If you don’t have your policy yet, that’s completely fine — many new vendors arrange it after applying.
Your insurance certificate must list:
- “Surrey Urban Farmers Market Association”
- AND
- “City of Surrey”
…as additional insureds.
We require this certificate before May 1, 2026, and vendors cannot attend their first market until it has been received.
What to Expect After You Apply
Here’s how the process works once you submit your application:
1. Application + $25 Fee This allows us to begin reviewing your file. Payable with credit card or e-transfer.
2. Application Review We’ll contact you with next steps. This may include clarifications, requests for documents, or an approval message depending on your vendor type.
3. Vendor Fee Invoice + Approved Dates If approved, you’ll receive an invoice listing the market dates you’ve been approved for. Your dates are secured once the invoice is paid.
4. Insurance Deadline Even after your dates are booked and paid for, you must submit your insurance certificate before May 1, 2026. Vendors cannot attend their first market until this certificate is on file.
We aim to keep the process simple and supportive from start to finish.
