Volunteers

Our non-profit Farmers Market Society is run by volunteers and we have a number of exciting opportunities.  If you are looking for Youth Leadership Experience, volunteers hours count towards your graduation!  We have something for everyone.  Learn some great new skills or use your skills to help out your community!

If you are interested in volunteering with us at the market please send an email to Roxci at info@surreymarket.org to inquire and request an application form.

If you are under 16 we also require a parent consent form.

Below are some of the market opportunities:

Operations
Set Up /12pm to 2pm: helping with traffic control, helping Vendors set up their tents and tables, ensuring Vendors are setting up in the correct booths, setting up the Kids Zone and activities, and helping to setup the Info Tent materials.

Take Down / 6pm to 7pm

Guest Services
Market Info Booth (anytime between 1 pm to 6 pm providing information)
Children’s Activities (face painting, reading stories, leading crafts/activities, etc anytime between 1 pm to 6 pm)
Market Helper (anytime between 1 pm to 6 pm, vendor breaks, etc)

Marketing
Guest Correspondent (write blog post content)

Postering in Community

Signage (put up street signage on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning and remove signs Wednesday evening)

Advocacy
Executive Committee (Marketing)
Executive Committee (Grant writing & Sponsorships)
Executive Committee (Membership drive)

Work in Your Community
Volunteer at Outreach events
Teach workshops:gardening, canning, cooking, etc
